Today, there's no doubt that you know someone who has left their previous job to start their own business and why is that?
Before we dig deeper into that, let us first differentiate a business and a job.
Having a job gives you certainty while having a business is like going out uncertain of things that might happen.
Having the job that pays you regularly gives you assurance for the short-term, but not for the long term. Your job depends on how long will you last working. But in having a business, if you are able to sustain and make it big then your business has a chance to survive in the long run even if you stop working. Unlike having a job, once you stop working, money stops coming in.
So if you were given a choice to pick, would you rather choose something certain but you can only have it in a short period of time or uncertainty but in a long time.
It totally depends, if you have what it takes to run a business for the long run.
Now, here are 2 reasons why it is better to create your own business.
1. You own your time
Having a job doesn't give you much free time you would want to have. You are unable to go to that vacation you've been longing for because your leave wasn't approved and as the weekends start you wonder why it's Monday again and you have to go back to work.
That's the typical setting we have but when you have your own business you manage your own time, you do not have to do the same old 8hours working time. You are totally in charge of what you want to do and when to do it.
But know this, having a business doesn't mean that you can be carefree and do whatever you want you also need to be disciplined if you want to be successful. Successful people love to have their own time because they use it for good, they study, read, and expand their knowledge about their business.
At first, when starting a business you would completely be busy because you are doing a lot of stuff as a start-up, marketing here and there, creating your products, planning for your business goals, strategies, etc. You might say that it is the same as working 8 hours as an employee but the difference is that you're not getting paid. Well, it's okay because it would only be like that since your just starting and it would totally depend on your time management.
If you are someone who would like to own their time then having a business could help you but if you're not ready to jump into business yet and leave your job it is recommended that you save first and do more research before you start.
2. You can be financially free
A lot of people want to get rich and get out of the rat race and we all know that the proven way to do it is to have your own business.
Have you ever seen an employee who is rich and financially free? Maybe, but not many. Employees aren't getting rich by having their jobs it's the employer or the boss who gets rich because of their employees. Why? Because employees work for the money while the boss let the money work for them.
Having a business can help you reach your goal of financial freedom IF done properly and managed well.
You can also be financially free not only by doing business but also if you have investments and do real estate.
Would you rather chase money your whole life until you reach the age of retirement? Or would you want to be financially free and enjoy your life at the age of retirement?
